Helpful Info for Happy Visits

Do not eat or drink anything for at least 8 hours before your procedure, unless your dentist gives you other directions. Wear comfortable clothing and arrange for someone to drive you home, as you may feel drowsy afterward.

Mild swelling and soreness are normal for the first few days. Stick to soft foods, avoid chewing on the implant site, and keep the area clean with gentle rinsing as directed by your dentist.

Bite down on the gauze provided to control bleeding for the first few hours. Avoid using straws, smoking, or vigorous rinsing, as these can dislodge the clot and delay healing.

Expect some swelling and tenderness for a few days. Apply ice packs as needed, take prescribed medications, and eat soft foods until you feel comfortable resuming your normal diet.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include implant-supported dentures, All-on-4® implants, or traditional dentures. Your dentist will help determine which option best restores function and aesthetics.

Not always—if they are healthy, fully erupted, and positioned correctly, removal may not be necessary. However, if they’re impacted, painful, or causing crowding, extraction is usually recommended.
