Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Floodeen completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Music in oboe performance. She continued her musical education with graduate studies in classical performance at the University of Arizona.
After a short sabbatical, Dr. Floodeen returned to the Pacific Northwest to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Washington, where she graduated first in her class. During dental school, she was involved in clinical research, mentorship, special needs dentistry, and community outreach—experiences that helped shape her patient-centered approach to care. Following dental school, Dr. Floodeen completed a rigorous oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. She then went on to complete a full-scope four-year residency at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. Her training encompassed a wide range of procedures, including wisdom tooth removal, dental implant placement, facial trauma, TMJ disorders, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, benign pathology, and treatment of complex infections. Dr. Floodeen has a special interest in dental implants—from single tooth replacement to full-arch rehabilitation—and enjoys helping patients regain confidence in their smiles. She also finds fulfillment in treating benign pathology, rebuilding bone with grafting procedures, and guiding patients through the removal of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth. In addition to her clinical practice at Southern Oral Surgery & Implant Specialists, Dr. Floodeen is an assistant professor and part-time faculty member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dental College of Georgia, where she is dedicated to mentoring and training future surgeons. She is also a credentialed provider with hospital privileges at Wellstar MCG Health.
Outside the office, Dr. Floodeen enjoys a full and active life with her husband, 10-year-old daughter, and their beloved rescue dog, Hope. Her hobbies include baking, gardening, and playing the oboe. She also cherishes time outdoors—kayaking the Augusta Canal, camping at Clarks Hill Lake, or reading a good book by the ocean. Dr. Floodeen is proud to serve the CSRA community and is committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment for every patient. Her mission is to ensure that each person feels heard, respected, and truly cared for—from the initial consultation through every step of recovery.
